Quality Time; Weapon of the Evil Overlord?
A sinister and diabolical plan has been put into place which jeopardizes the very existence of traditional American family and the associated values. The Evil Overlord who perpetrated this dark and dastardly plan set it into motion with the utterance of two vile words. Those words… Quality Time.
Once we yield to the Evil Overlord and accept the concept that we can diminish the amount of time we were willing to devote to all of those things which build family community and enrich our lives…reading with our children, hearing stories from our elders, eating dinner together… we doom ourselves to the diminished desire for depth of connection that accompanies that loss of time.
Okay, so there is no Evil Overlord. But, the decline of the American way of life is on the precipice of decline as surely as if there were.
Multi-tasking and a drive for ever greater efficiency has assumed the same role.
Someone once said, Show me your checkbook and I’ll show you your priorities.
Even Christ said, For where your treasure is, there your heart shall be also. Matthew 6:21.
