Looking for a Bargain?

I realize this topic is a little off the path for Elemental Truths but I really feel like it is worth sharing.

Last year I took a trip to England. I am pretty conscientious about checking regulations and preplanning to make sure I sidestep as many traveling landmines as possible.

I made sure that any liquids I was carrying on were in less than 3 ounce bottles. I left my pocket knife at home. My nail clippers were in my checked bags. Any of my toiletries that contained liquid were in a quart size zip top container.

I zipped through on my way out of the U.S. with no hitches at all.

On my return trip I packed in the same manner and expected to scoot through again.

But, then it happened…. (cue ominous music).

While in England I bought a snow globe. You know, those little clear plastic doo dads that make a snowy scene when you shake them.

There a no no. And they get confiscated. Oh, well live and learn I guess.

But, here is the good news. If your items get confiscated in the U.S. you can get most of them back if you write the airlines.

If you don’t get them back they sell them. Yep, they sell them. Usually to a bulk purchaser that pays for them by lot or pound.

Do you know what they do with them? You guessed it. They resell the items. Cheap!

Listed below is a collection of links that you can follow to purchase or at least bid on these items.
