Behavior Consulting in the Age of Conversation?

Votebutton

Drew McLellan of Drew’s Marketing Minute has issued an author’s call for the next edition of “The Age of Conversation.”

The book collected the musings of 100 very different innovators from marketing program designers to customer advocates (but, I didn’t notice any behavioral consultants :) ), and solicited their perception of the impact of conversation in their chosen field. The resulting book has become widely popular do I’m sure in no small part, to the fact that all the profits go to Variety the Children’s Charity.

The Variety Mission Statement?

The Variety mission, “Never say no to a child in need,” unites members, contributors and volunteers in a concerted effort to meet the needs of our (sick and disadvantaged) children through fund raising events, activities and programs.

They want to make our second book even bigger and better than Age of Conversation.

Here are their basic rules for authorship:

1. I must sign over all rights to my chapter

  • No worries. I’ll be honored just to be of help.

2. All proceeds of the book will be donated to Variety, the Children’s Charity.

  • Again, no worries (see above).

3. I agree to promote the book, throughout the process, on your blog if you have one.

  • Done!

4. I embrace the cooperative, collaborative spirit that defined Age of Conversation.

  • Love to!

5.You’ll honor deadlines so Drew does not have to be a nag.

  • I’ll sure try.

6. You’ll honor word counts so Gavin doesn’t have to be a nag.

  • Scout’s honor.

So, what’s the topic? That is the really cool part. The topic will be chosen by majority vote of those who wish to contribute.

Here are the choice options:

  • Marketing Manifesto
  • Why Don’t People Get It?
  • My Marketing Tragedy (and what I learned)

Can you guess my vote? Yep, “Why Don’t People Get It?” practically screams from a behavioral analysis.

But, you can vote too?

You DO NOT need to be an author or potential author to vote. We want everyone’s take on this year’s topic.

Whether I’m selected to contribute or not, it sounds like a great project.
