It is nice to hear from you again.

I'll explain it to you the way my advisor explained it to me when I was a doctoral candidate.

It is rather like the concept of an element. Except rather than every being composed of one type of atom, temperaments are made up of three core needs (inclusion, affection, control). 

If you change the number of protons and atom has, you change the type of element it is. If you change the level of need in inclusion, control or affection you change the type of temperament a person is built to have.

As a matter of fact, that is why I chose the name Elemental Truths for this site.
