Revisiting Life Goals

A little more than a year ago a friend challenged me to write about my life goals. I thought it time to revive and re-share.

The author of Mind Tweaks challenged me (M.T.) to identify and post my personal goals. I realize to most folks that does not seem too daunting a task. However, I have set many goals in the past and I am all too aware that when you set a goal, write it out and work toward you run the risk of achieving it.

Yes, I said the risk of achieving it.

You see, I am a great believer in the old adage, “be careful what you wish for, you may get it.”

Setting goals is a serious business and it should not be done with a cavalier attitude. So, after much thought and no small amount of trepidation I am here setting down five of my goals.

  • Establish a counseling ministry for those seeking light and guide them into Godly ways of meeting the needs of their temperaments.
  • Build and sit an endowed chair position for a private school founded on principals of faith.
  • Build Elemental Truths into a resource of such value that it funds a full time position for electronic publications.
  • Be the husband and father my wife and children deserve.
  • Write a worthy reference work for understanding and a interacting with others in a positive and mutually beneficial way.

Well, that’s about it.

As I understand the process, I am now supposed to challenge any who read these words to compile their own list of goals to post on their site. In this way the “paid forward” value continues its positive journey across the internet.

Consider the challenge extended. And any who take up the gauntlet should note the undertaking in the comments section here.

Elemental Value Added Truth: A person without written goals is like an explorer without a map. Not only does he not know where he is going, he may not even know it when he gets there.
