Speaking Engagement FAQ’s

SPEAKING CONDITIONS:

Audio Visual Requests:

  • Microsoft PowerPoint compatible projection system

    • or overhead projector

  • Microphone for groups of more than 50 attendees

  • No Audio of Video taping without the written permission of the speaker.

  • Unless prior agreement, no “in home” presentations.

  • Transportation expenses must be guaranteed

Fees - Non profit organizations (Lions Club, Rotary, Elks, Moose, etcetera) and faith groups are eligable for pro bono(no fee) engagements for which only the expenses are incurred. Otherwise presentations are flat fee based, plus all travel, lodging and meals (if necessary) and begin at a rate of $250 for a standard presentation. All other fees are base on the length of the presentation plus one hour question and answer forum (if desired). A 50% deposit is required at the acceptance of the agreement.

The remaining expenses are due upon arrival of the speaker at location.

Travel Arrangements - Outside the 27510 zip code. Vehicle, airfare and lodging expenses are the responsibility of the client. If lodging is necessary accommodations must have internet availability, air conditioning, coffee availability, phone service and a desktop work station.

Expenses - Including but not limited to taxi, meals and parking.

Changes - Any changes must made in writing.

Advertisement(s) - Any promotion is the responsibility of the client but must be agreed upon by the speaker.

Cancellation - Cancellations must be received in writing. Cancellations within 30 days of the engagement will incur the full fee. Cancellations between 31 and 90 days of the engagement will incur only the expense of the retainer. Cancellations more than 90 days in advance of the engagement are entitled to a full refund, typically within 10 business days.
